KCCS is testing Sekisui Chemical's film-type perovskite solar modules at six facilities in Fukuoka and Shiga prefectures. The project is supported by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment and local governments. Japan aims to deploy 20 GW of perovskite-based PV systems by 2040.
