"Researchers from Occidental College and UC Irvine developed EMR to reshape the cornea without lasers or surgery. The method uses mild electric currents to temporarily alter corneal pH, allowing the tissue to be molded into a new shape. Early tests on rabbit eyes show potential as a cheaper, less invasive alternative to LASIK."
