Microsoft and Chevron announced a 20-year agreement to build a 2.67-gigawatt natural gas power plant in West Texas. The plant will provide dedicated electricity to a Microsoft data center. The project is expected to release over 13 million tons of carbon dioxide. This move conflicts with Microsoft's goal to be carbon negative by 2030.
