Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Over 900 suspected cases and 220 suspected deaths of the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola reported in the DRC. WHO has declared a public health emergency of international concern. Misinformation and community distrust are hindering response efforts, leading to attacks on treatment centers. WHO is scaling up operations and allocating $3.9 million from the Contingency Fund for Emergencies.
